Robin Hood, William Tell and the Petruckas

Mark has a friend at work, Darren, on whom he has bestowed the title of 'The Most Interesting Man in Alabama'. Seriously, this guy is amazing. He is the kind of guy you want on your side when the four horsemen of the apocalypse come riding through town, because he could probably survive for weeks with just a pocket knife and duct tape. To quote the commercial that inspired his name,"his beard alone has experienced more than a lesser man's whole body."

On Saturday, Darren invited our whole family over to his house for some archery.

Needless to say, Brandon and Bryce were super excited about the activity!

Even the girls had fun. Emily had to take photos on her phone so that she could text her friends and show them what she was doing. She is our stereotypical teen.

Natalie took her instructions very seriously. Notice the Legolas inspired hair-style--she is our untypical teen.

But the best moment of the day was when Mark got to try out the "man-bow".

He forgot to kept his bow arm slightly bent and ended up with some serious string slap. Ouch!

A small price to pay for spending the afternoon with the Most Interesting Man in Alabama.

That looks like it HURT! He looks like a really cool guy. It's good to put a face with the stories.
