Natalie's competition field show this year was in honor of the 50th anniversary of James Bond. The band learned two field shows this year--a football show, which all the band members performed, and a competition show, which the students had to audition for. The thought was that a competition band made up of the best students would be able to learn a harder and therefore more competitive show. The reality kind of ended up being that two shows just meant less time to really perfect either one. It was a busy and, in many ways, frustrating season. They went to two competitions and got great reviews from the judges but never ended up placing for any awards. There is one more competition left this year. The band is going to Tampa in December to compete at the Outback Bowl. Natalie is not too excited about that. She would much rather stay home and veg over Christmas Break.
Here is the video of their show, "007". Natalie is the first marimba (closest to the drum major). My favorite part is at about 2:24. Those are some fast moving mallets!

Wow, this was exciting. I forgot all about watching Natty and just followed James Bond. They killed the golden girl, how rude.
