Last Christmas Brandon got a model rocket. Since it required adult assembly, it didn't get built right away and ended up stashed away in Brandon's closet.On Saturday, Brandon brought out the rocket and really wanted someone to finally help him launch it. Feeling guilty that the gift had not seen the light of day in almost 11 months, Mark agreed to help.
The convoluted instructions nearly proved too much for Mark's limited construction skills, and threatened to push him to the brink of sanity, but eventually the rocket got built. And, to Mark's surprise, it actually worked.
The look on Brandon's face when the rocket launched the first time was almost worth waiting nearly a year for. Once again, Dad was the hero.
