First Game

Bryce had his first soccer game of the season on Saturday. He is so excited to play this year! He would wear his uniform 24/7 if I let him. He especially loves wearing the long soccer socks. This morning he went to school wearing denim shorts and last years blue soccer socks pulled up to this thighs. It looked like he was wearing royal blue tights. He says he likes the socks because they keep his legs warm in the cold classrooms. When I asked why he doesn't just wear long pants, he looked at me like I was crazy and then proceeded to explain how you can roll the socks down when you get hot. (Duh, mom!)

Bryce moved up to an older division this year and is playing more of a "real game" than he did last year--the field is bigger, the rules are stricter, and each team now gets to have a goalie. Bryce and his team played really hard but their goalie made a rookie mistake and was standing behind the goal line when he caught the opposing team's only viable shot resulting in a 1 to nothing loss. Hopefully next week will be a win.
