Today we visited the cemetery where my grandfather and great-grandparents are buried. The plots here are rented not purchased like in the states. Every 10 years or so, the family of the deceased is required to pay a sum for continued use. If the family stops paying, or can no longer be contacted, the plot is cleared and recycled for someone else's use.
On our way home from the cemetery, we found what Emily had been looking for all week, a small shop selling affordable dirndls in her size! The sales-lady was super sweet and made Emily feel like a real VIP by bringing out dress after dress to try. The biggest surprise is that Natalie, who never wants to buy new clothes and abhors trying anything on also tried on several dresses. Grandpa took that as a sign and bought Natalie a dress, too. Aren't they soooo cute!
Dresses in hand, we wandered around town a little longer, seeing the sights and finding several special somethings that just had to go home with us--like more candy and plush banana toys.
